WPGC Double Action: West oint Gun Club Double Action Match Oct 14
The West Point Gun Club will be having their monthly Double Action match this Thursday, Oct 14th. The gates open at 8:30 AM, setup starts at 8:30 AM, sign up starts at 8:30 AM and shooting starts at 10:00 AM. In addition to our 6 stage Double Action match, we will be having the following:
– 20 round J-Frame (5 shot, short barrel) stage
– 24 round 1911 stage using Wild Bunch Rules (smaller frame carry 1911’s are OK to use)
– We will also be shooting a 29 round stage (24 with normal DA Firearm then 5 rounds with a J-Frame) this will be one of the 6 DA stages.
As normal all stages are shot using adult caliber firearms (center fire) and no lasers, red dot or other optics are allowed.
Frontier Mick is now the program director for the West Point Gun Club Double Action Match, but has transportation problems, so I will be running this match.

Mattaponi Sundowners: Shoot For A Cure
Howdy All Cowboys and Cowgirls,
A week from tomorrow we will be having our annual “Shoot For A Cure” match with all proceeds going to the America Cancer Society through our Relay For Life Team. As usual the Mattaponi Sundowners will not be keeping 1 cent of any money collected. We will have raffles, silent auctions, and items for sale. Some items will just be grouped as a general raffle; when the number is picked that person will just come get the item they want. Larger raffle items will have their own raffle container. People have been generous to us. We have the $500 gift card from Green Top, we also have a Ruger Wrangler donated by Bingo Montana and a Norinco 12 ga shotgun donated by Ripsaw and our special handcrafted stool by Cockscrew Tom. All of these items will have their own raffle.
My goal has been and will always be to get $1 more but given the economy and all that everyone has been through in the past 2 years, I’ll be happy with all we get. WPCF will donate $5 for each person that signs up and shoots the match. So get an email to 97graves@gmail.com letting me know your name, alias and category.

Hello Shooters!
We had a great match despite the threat of rain! And a great turn out. Because of the forecast we shortened the match to three strings per stage in lieu of the normal variation, so we were able to beat the forecasted rain time that never occurred, go figure!
Anyway, congrats to Kidd, Vaquero, and Ford as victors in the Cowboy, Limited, and Open Divisions, respectively. The scores are attached for posterity.
Our next match will be on 03 NOV. Hope to see everyone come out and join the fun!

WPGC Rimfire Steel: WPGC Rimfire Steel Match for 06 OCT
Hello Shooters!
I’ve been looking at the weather for WED, 06 OCT. Depending on which model you look at, it’s either scattered showers, mostly cloudy, and/or chances of thundershowers. Accu-Weather says it will be mostly cloudy with occasional showers. So let’s take a chance and go ahead and have the match.
So we will open the gates at around 0900 (9 AM). We’ll start by putting up the tents while watching the weather.

Mattaponi Sundowners Sunday match
Howdy All Cowboys and Cowgirls,
This Sunday, August 15, the Mattaponi Sundowners will be holding a match. Gates will open at 1000, safety meeting at 1200 and shooting starts at 1230.
The weather is looking pretty good. A cold front is due on Saturday and temp on Sunday is 82, as of now. We will have tents and fans as needed.

Attached are the results from today. It was a nice day for shooting and glad to have Lillypad join us.
Congrats to Major B. S. Walker as Overall match winner. Congrats to Ripsaw as the only clean shooter.
I’m sorry I missed today but I’m more than a little sore. I’m happy to say I now have a pink foot and pulse in my foot again. I want to thank each of you for the prayers, emails and ice cream sent my way. I won’t be able to shoot for a couple of weeks but looking forward to at least being with y’all soon. Love you all.
