Well, what a day; wind, rain, sleet and then sun shine just as we were leaving. Thanks to Potter for thinking ahead and putting up the an extra tent for shooting under. We had 15 shooters that were brave or whatever, that came out and shot the match. Thanks to all that did the set up and those that helped with tear down.

Congrats to Dakota Rambler As Overall Match winner and to Dakota Rambler, Ripsaw, Tom Mix and Wistful McClintock for shooting CAD.

Thanks to all that joined us at Nick’s for our annual Christmas party and gift exchange.  It was a nice event with nice gifts.

WE WISH EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Hope to see everyone healthy and safe in 2022.

Mattaponi Sundowners: LAST CALL FOR DINNER

Howdy All,

This is the last call for Cowboy dinner and gift exchange at Mick’s tomorrow.

If you DON”T plan to shoot but plan on coming to dinner, please let me know.  I would like to give them a decent head count for the dinner so they will be prepared. You DO NOT need to respond if you plan on coming to the match.

Thanks.

Mattaponi Sundowners: match results

Howdy All,

The day started out questionable but ended fairly nice, a bit more sun would have been good though.

Congratulations to Ripsaw as Overall Match winner. Congrats to Beartooth, Cody Maverick, Ripsaw and Single Barrel Sam for shooting CAD. We welcomed a new shoot, Todd, to the Cowboy family.

We sure hope Major B. S. Walker and Flatboat Bob a speedy recovery and a speedy rejoining of the Cowboy family. Flatboat Bob is scheduled for hernia repair surgery after the New Year. It was good to have Beartooth back and glad to hear of Monna Bear’s progress with recovery.

Don’t forget that next Sunday will be at Cowboy Christmas match. We will be having dinner at Nick’s after the match, with a Chinese gift exchange if you want to participate. If you aren’t’ going to make it to the match but would like to join us for dinner THEN email me. No need to let me know if you are going to be at the match. More details to come on Tuesday.

Have a GREAT week and stay safe.

Mattaponi Sundowners: Christmas plans

Howdy All Cowboys and Cowgirls,

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, had plenty of great foods and recovered from over eating.

We just wanted to put a bug into everyone’s ear about our Christmas plans.  We plan on having our Christmas match on Dec. 19 with dinner afterwards at Nick’s .  We plan on having a Chinese gift exchange of a Cowboy related item. Keep the price near $25. If you want to come to the dinner but not participate in the gift exchange, that is fine. If you would like to come to the dinner and gift exchange and not shoot, that is ok to.

Nick’s has been good to us and we would like to treat them well also especially since a place for s Christmas parties is at a premium. I would like to get a head count especially of those that don’t plan on being at the match. If you plan on coming to dinner but not shoot, please send me an email informing me of this.

There is also a match with us before the Christmas match, on Dec. 11.

Y’all far exceeded my moto of “Just $1 more”.

This is a great testament to how loving and caring the Cowboy and Cowgirl family is.  I do hold each of you dear to my heart.

I can’t thank everyone enough but a very large Thank You goes to Inita Shoot and Wistful for all of the shirt sales for the past 2 years, giving us over $6000 in  sales. Thank you to everyone that worked, donated items and gave from their hearts.

THANK YOU AND LOVE EACH OF YOU!!
