Hello Shooters!!

Our next Rimfire Steel Match is scheduled for this WED, 07 MAR.  I’m watching the weather.  Right now Weather Bug says it will be low 40s, windy, and possible showers.  So we will hold the match unless the weather changes dramatically.  Dress warmly and bring rain gear  (that way it won’t rain!).

In addition to that, the Cowboy Class will allow two Single-Action revolvers to be fired “gunfighter style” (one in each hand).

Shooters!

Man the weather guessers at Weather Bug and the Weather Channel didn’t quite get it right.  What was supposed to be  slight chance of light showers starting at Noon and temperatures rising into the 50s turned out to be a moderate rain starting around 1030 and off and on for the rest of the day and relatively cool day.

But, we had a good day shooting with the usual bantering and fun despite the weather.  I want to thank Kidd at Heart (Bob Hall) for bringing his iPad and scoring software.  Sure made it nice.  

We had seven shooters to brave the weather and compete.  So attached are the scores.  Congrats to Don Fenton as the overall winner of the match and the OPEN Class.  Vaquero took the LIMITED Class and Beartooth excelled in the highly contested COWBOY Class  .

Our next match will be on WED, 07 MAR.  See you all then!

Hello, Shooters!

Well, it’s been a great start to the year.  We had to cancel the first match of the year because it was so cold.  This WED, 07 FEB is the next scheduled match.  It looks like the temperatures will be a bit more seasonable; starting in the 30s to 40s and getting up to 50 by noon.  There is a 30% chance of light rain around noon.  So, it should not be too bad.

Hello, Shooters!

I hope everyone has had a great and Blessed Christmas and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I’ve been trying to stay warm for the last week with some success by staying inside most of the time.  It doesn’t look any better for WED, 06 JAN.  The temperature is not forecasted to reach 30 Degrees until Noon and the “feels like” temperature is forecasted to be 26 degrees.  Realizing that weather guessing is an inexact science, I would say that the temperature trends this week is a good indicator that it will probably be cold enough to make it uncomfortable to shoot (at least for me).

With all that said, I am cancelling the match for WED, 03 JAN.  The next schedule match is for 07 FEB.  Hopefully it will be warm enough to shoot.

We had seven shooters today, the weather started as overcast and cold but at the end of the match the sun was shining.

Don Fenton was the over all top shooter and winner of the Open Category.

Bryan Hood was the winner of the limited Category.

Shooters!!

It was a beautiful day!!  Blue skies and not too humid.  The only disappointment was that we only had seven shooters.  Looking forward to seeing more people next month.

For those who were there, everyone did a great job.  Congrats to our winners; overall low score was Allen Estes, who also took the Open Class and Vaquero Gambler topped the Limited Class.  Scores are attached.

Next match will be on WED, 01 NOV.  Same time, same range.

Shooters,

I’ve been watch the weather forecast for tomorrow morning, WED, 06 SEP and I feel it prudent to CANCEL the Rimfire Steel Match.  I’ve been following several models and they all call for Thunderstorms throughout tomorrow morning and into the early afternoon.  Rain does not bother me, but a thunderstorm with all the metal we play with are a bad combination.

I apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you all at our next scheduled match on WED, 04 OCT.

The next WPGC Rimfire Steel Match will be held on WED, 06 SEP.  Right now Weather Bug is calling for chance of thunderstorms.  We will keep an eye on the weather and make a decision within 24 hours.  Stay tuned.

Hello Shooters!

Well, the weather was great for the match.  Not too warm, a little humid, contrary to what the weather guessers at Weather Bug projected.  We had a great turn out with eleven shooters.  I’d like to welcome Perry Fridley and Longhorn Louie to our little group.

Everyone shot well, so congrats to all.  Special kudos to our winners; overall low score was Don Fenton, who also took the Open Class and Bryan Hood came in second overall and beat the Limited Class.  Scores are attached.
