Hmmm…

We will be holding the monthly DA match if we have enough participants. The forecast is 38 at 10 am and 42 at 2 pm. I couldn’t get a reliable wind forecast but it seems 6 mph is likely. 

We will have six stages of main frame revolver, 3 reloads totaling 24 rounds. One of these stages will have a J-frame back up.

One stage of J-frame only 20 rounds 3 reloads and

One stage of 1911 only 24 rounds. 3 reloads

We had a beautiful day and some great fun. The match results are shown attached. Thanks to Kidd for electronically taking care of the timing and scoring. It sure made my job easier. 

 

We had a good turnout, thanks to everyone for supporting the DA match and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone next month.

WPGC will hold our monthly DA match on Thursday, August 10, 2023. 

Gates will open at 8:30.

Expect 6 stages of main frame revolver, one with a J-frame (144 rounds main frame and 5 rounds J-frame)

One J-frame only match (20 rounds)

One 1911 only match (20 rounds)

We will need six shooters to hold a steel match. If we don’t have 6, we will conduct a paper silhouette match. If this is the match any gun or caliber will be okay. 

 

I will send an email Wednesday evening  between 1800 and 2000 and let everyone know which match we will have.

We had four participants for the paper silhouette match. I think everyone enjoyed the challenge of the match. 

 

High score for the main frame centerfire revolver was:

 

    184 out of 200 shot by Mac

 

High score for the main frame rimfire revolver was:

 

    194 out of 200 shot by Shinbone

 

There were also unchallenged J-frame and 1911

The West Point Gun Club will be having their monthly Double Action match this Thursday, Feb 14th. The gates open at 8:00 AM, setup starts at 8:30 AM, sign up starts at 8:30 AM and shooting starts at 10:00 AM. In addition to our 6 stage Double Action match, we will be having the following:

 

    – 20 round J-Frame (5 shot, short barrel) stage

    – 28 round 1911 stage using Wild Bunch Rules (smaller frame carry 1911’s are OK to use)

    – We will also be shooting a 29 round stage (24 with normal DA Firearm then 5 rounds with a J-Frame) this will be one of the 6 DA stages.

 

Also if there is time after the normal stages have been completed we may have another 1911 stage so you may want to bring extra ammo for the 1911.

 

As normal all stages are shot using adult caliber firearms (center fire) and no lasers, red dot or other optics are allowed.
