This is a reminder that the range will be closed on Friday (set up) and Saturday (match) for general membership use. WPGC Cowboy group will be holding the Virginia State Black Powder Championship.
You are welcome to come watch the match, if you like but you must have hearing and eye protection. The match starts at 1000 on Saturday.

WHEN YOU GET TO THE RANGE ON SATURDAY, PLEASE COME TO THE REGISTRATION TABLE AND CHECK IN FIRST. I DON’T WANT TO BE AT THE LAST MINUTE TRYING TO TIE THINGS UP.
Attached is a schedule of the day, we will try to stick to this as much as possible but we will not be rushing anyone to stay on a schedule.
We will have tents and fans as needed during the match.

Well you couldn’t believe it was the middle of June with these temps and breeze but sure ain’t complaining either. Is it possible to order this for next Saturday? If you aren’t registered to shoot Smoke, it’s not too late as long as you are a SASS member in good standing, other words, paid up. We will be shooting the Smoke On The Mattaponi next Saturday. Even if you aren’t registered to shoot this, please help us by supporting Reb’s Bullets. Our main match sponsor.

The Mattaponi Sundowners will be holding a match this Sunday. Gates will open at 1000, safety meeting at 1200 and shooting starts at 1230. The weather is looking great, low humidity and temps in upper 70’s.
Attached are the stages. Don’t forget the Smoke On The Mattaponi match on June 25. The deadline for registration has come and gone but we still invite you to come shoot with us but you must be a SASS member in good standing. This is a requirement since it’s a state match.

We had a most unusual day for a DA match. We did indeed hold the match using the same guns we brought for the steel match. Unfortunately, only 4 people came, so setting up the steel didn’t seem practical, especially with the heat. Instead, we went to plan B. The shooters seemed to enjoy the match and even asked that we do it again. I am going to need to solve some problems before next month. Two of the four reported that they didn’t receive emails using the address above. I will confirm their addresses and make sure they are on the list. We will likely start requesting a RSVP before committing to the match. We might even continue to shoot “Plan B”. We scored the match before we left and the category winners know who they were. Stay tuned.

Well it’s only a week away from the Smoke On The Mattaponi deadline for signing up. You are more than welcome to come shoot, if you miss the deadline, but you must shoot in an established category or you risk not getting an award.
Attached is the shooter application, sponsorship application and who’s coming list. If you would like to sponsor we will gladly accept such a gift.
We will be having a Plainsman stage. If you would like to shoot this please let us know. You can reference the SASS handbook for more information on that. Potter will be furnishing the guns and rifle ammo for this stage.
We are looking forward to the match and to seeing everyone there for a fun day of smoke.

We were few in numbers today but bigger in spirit. Thanks for all those that came out today and shot with us, we hope that you had fun. IT SURE WAS GOOD TO SEE AND HAVE FLATBOAT BACK WITH US!! Thanks for all of the help with set up and tear down.
Congrats Dakota Rambler as the Overall match winner and to Lefty Spurmaker the only CAD shooter.
If you know of a veterans or see an active military service member, PLEASE THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE. Remember what this weekend stands for, not for the sales. Pray for our country and for the safety of all of our service men and women at home and abroad.

Before anything, I want to THANK everyone that helped Potter this morning with finishing the set up for the match and to all of those to helped to take down and made sure he didn’t lift.
Congrats to Cody Maverick as the Overall Match Winner. Congrats to One Eyed Jane and Ton Mix for shooting CAD. The stages were good and fun. We added a new shooter to the group, Bama Bill, and we hope that he will join us again.
Next weekend is Thunder In The Brush. We hope to see y’all there. Safe travels and good shooting to Cody as he goes to Georgia State match and to visit his sister.
