Mattaponi Sundowners: Saturday Results

It was a dry sunny day at the range today.  Ten of us shot a match designed for simplicity, and we were finished in near-record time.
 
Congratulations to Dakota Rambler for the win and for shooting the match clean.  Congrats also to Buzzard Bayne and Prairie City Slim for shooting clean all day.

Mattaponi Sundowners: Monthly Saturday Match August 26

The Mattaponi Sundowners will be hosting a Cowboy Action match this coming Saturday August 26 at the West Point Gun Club.
 
Gates will open at 8:00, the safety meeting will be at 9:45, and we start shooting at 10:00
 
“Cowboy Cool” is optional.  Shorts, T-shirts, & Tennis Shoes are allowed but baseball caps or open-toe shoes are not.
 
Stages by Ripsaw attached.  Hope you can join us at the last East-Central Virginia match before the state championship.

The Mattaponi Sundowners will be hosting a Cowboy Action match this coming Sunday August 20 at the West Point Gun Club.
 
Gates will open at 10:00, the safety meeting will be at 12:15, and we start shooting at 12:30
 
Feel free to dress “cowboy cool”.  Shorts, T-shirts, & Tennis Shoes will be permitted.  No baseball caps or open-toe shoes.

WPGC Double Action: Match August 10

Sorry to say, I had only two responses for the DA match tomorrow. Therefore, WE WILL NOT BE HOLDING the August 10, match at West Point. Hope to see everyone in September,

WPGC Double Action Match

WPGC will hold our monthly DA match on Thursday, August 10, 2023. 
Gates will open at 8:30.
Expect 6 stages of main frame revolver, one with a J-frame (144 rounds main frame and 5 rounds J-frame)
One J-frame only match (20 rounds)
One 1911 only match (20 rounds)

We will need six shooters to hold a steel match. If we don’t have 6, we will conduct a paper silhouette match. If this is the match any gun or caliber will be okay. 
 
I will send an email Wednesday evening  between 1800 and 2000 and let everyone know which match we will have.

Well, what can I say it was a lovely day for August. Reasonable temps and a slight breeze.
 
There was a lot of good conversation and razzing going on today. I think everyone had a good time.
