Rimfire Steel: Cancellation of WPGC Rimfire Steel Match for WED, 03 JAN 2018

Hello, Shooters!

I hope everyone has had a great and Blessed Christmas and I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I’ve been trying to stay warm for the last week with some success by staying inside most of the time.  It doesn’t look any better for WED, 06 JAN.  The temperature is not forecasted to reach 30 Degrees until Noon and the “feels like” temperature is forecasted to be 26 degrees.  Realizing that weather guessing is an inexact science, I would say that the temperature trends this week is a good indicator that it will probably be cold enough to make it uncomfortable to shoot (at least for me).

With all that said, I am cancelling the match for WED, 03 JAN.  The next schedule match is for 07 FEB.  Hopefully it will be warm enough to shoot.

Regards to all!!

Mattaponi Sundowners: match results 12-17-17

Howdy All,

Well today started out nice with sunshine and warm but things quickly turned when the clouds rolled in.  We finished late in the day but it was nice to be with everyone and to shoot a match together.

Congrats to Cody Maverick as overall winner and to Flatboat Bob, Prairie City Slim, One Eyed Jane and Swifty McDraw for shooting CAD.

We had a GREAT time at Nick’s and the gift exchange.

We missed several of our friends and fellow cowboys and cowgirls.  We hope all is well with everyone.

We want to wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! Stay safe as you travel and celebrate with family and friends.

Hope to see everyone in 2018.

Sassy and Potter

West Point Double Action Match Dec 14 2017

The West Point Gun Club will be having their monthly Double Action match this Thursday, Dec 14th. The gates open at 8:00 AM, setup starts at 8:30 AM, sign up starts at 8:30 AM and shooting starts at 10:00 AM. In addition to our 6 stage Double Action match, we will be having the following:

    – 20 round J-Frame (5 shot, short barrel) stage
    – 20 round 1911 stage using Wild Bunch Rules (smaller frame carry 1911’s are OK to use)
    – We will also be shooting a 29 round stage (24 with normal DA Firearm then 5 rounds with a J-Frame) this will be one of the 6 DA stages.

If it rains we will put up tents. Also if there is time after the normal stages have been completed we may have another 1911 stage so you may want to bring extra ammo for the 1911.

As normal all stages are shot using adult caliber firearms (center fire) and no lasers, red dot or other optics are allowed.
